The Victron SmartSolar MPPT RS 450|100 is Victrons latest solution for large solar arrays, specifically designed to be used with 48V DC battery banks. Available in a 5.76kW and 11.52kW model, common applications include off grid cabins, tiny homes, ESS and hybrid generator systems.

The Victron SmartSolar MPPT RS 450|100 charge controller is a great option for large off grid or grid tie with battery back up, DC-coupled applications. With ultra-fast Maximum Power Point Tracking, the MPPT RS series is able to accurately and quickly get the most power possible out of multiple solar arrays simultaneously.
The SmartSolar MPPT RS is able to accept 450V at 20 Amps per input, while being able to charge at a rate of 5.8kW. With built-in galvanic isolation, the PV and Battery side of the MPPT remain completely isolated from each other. Why is this important? In the event of a system failure, this isolation ensures the battery bank is protected from the high voltage solar array.
The integrated display allows for monitoring battery voltage and charge current, as well as voltages of multiple arrays with instantaneous and total figures.
The SmartSolar RS also comes equipped with remote temperature and voltage sensing capabilities, as well as a programmable relay for alarms, generator auto start/stop, etc. With a remote input, the MPPT can be controlled by Victron external BMSes, such as the smallBMS.
With Victron GX device integration, the SmartSolar RS can work intelligently with smart lithium batteries, and be monitored remotely through the Victron remote management portal.
